Cooking Hóngshāo ròu: How Do I Say Delicious?
A lot changed in the last YouTube video. A new camera, superior editing, and a complete overhaul of the tone and style. I am still finding new ways to make great content, but anyone who has looked at the last two videos will notice a drastic improvement in quality.
Most important of all, my wife's amazing cooking skills were showcased in the last video. She cooked 红烧肉 (Hóngshāo ròu), a famous Chinese pork dish originating in Zhejiang during the Song dynasty.

This dish has a lot of history, and is something that anyone interested in Chinese food has to try. But there was a twist in how we prepared this classic dish, stuffing it in pita instead of the traditional 馒头 (Mántou), and it turned out delicious.
Speaking of delicious, while learning how to cook, I covered some simple ways to compliment food in Chinese.

- 味道很好 (wèi dào hěn hǎo)
- 真的很好吃 (Zhēn de hěn hào chī)
- 太香了 (tài xiāng le)
Using these phrases is sure to impress any Chinese person.
This video showcased how I want channel videos to be. And this is just the beginning of the cooking series, and you can expect a lot more useful phrases for surviving Chinese speaking and living situations.
Be sure to watch the video, and if you have any ideas for other series leave them in the YouTube comments. (Tell me what you think of an under 500 calorie Chinese lunches edition?)
